Guidelines for the Abstract Submission
Selected Abstracts will be Published in the Official Journal of LVA
- The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-author(s) are aware of the content of the abstract before submission.
- The presenting author must be listed as the first author.
- Abstract previously presented or published will not be accepted.
- Multiple submisstions are permitted; if selected only one oral presentation will be allowed.

6. Only the standard abbreviations will be acceptable, uncommon abbreviation must be put in parenthesis the first me it appears in the text.
7. Registration at the time of submission is not mandatory. However, once the abstract is accepted and informed, the presenting author must register for the conference within 5 days at the registration fees prevailing at that date. If the author fails to register within that me frame, the abstract will not be considered for presentation.
8. E-posters will be displayed on electronic screens. Please follow separate guidelines for
eposter.
9. Deadline for abstract submission is 31st May 2024.
10. PG students need to upload “Bonafide Certificate” with the abstracts.
11. Delegates interested in taking part in “Quiz” or “Video Award Session”, need to fill the appropriate form, scan and send it.
12. All Scientific presentations competing for the Medals should contain only the presenter’s name on the first slide with no mention of the institution, place and name of co-authors or HOD anywhere in the presentation.
13. Various aspects like quality, content, relevance, timing and way of presentation will be considered during assessment. The judge can disqualify a presentation if the presenter does not adhere to the rules and timing.
14. The judge’s decision will be final and binding. The scientific committee has the sole discretion to review, decide and accept or reject the abstract for the presenation.
Submit Abstract
Specifications for E-Posters presentations
* Title, Introduction, Objectives, Method, Result, Conclusion, Key words should be mentined with the maximum word limit of 250 words for the abstract submission.
* E-poster final presentation is to be sent according to the specifications provided. Uploading and changing of the PPT will not be allowed in the preview room.
* File format should be PowerPoint (PPT/PPTX).
* Total size of the presentation should not exceed 20 MB.
* Animation/movies/sounds will not be supported. Thus, requested to submit in a static PPT format only.
* The text should include: Introduction, Objective, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion and References.
* It is suggested that font size of the text should be at least 32 point. The typeface. chosen should be a simple and clear one.
* Illustrations/images/photographs used in the E-poster should be large enough to show relevant details clearly.
* Abstract should be formatted in MS Word; Times New Roman Font and Font size 12 Pt.
* A passport size photograph of the presenter should be included in the presentation.
* Total duration of the presentation should be 7 minutes or less.
* There shall be 2 minutes of discussion.
Presentation Guidelines for Paper Presentation
* Abstract should not be more than 280 words.
* Abstract should be formatted in MS Word; Times New Roman Font and Font size 12 Pt.
* Abstract should be under the following Headings – Title, Presenting Author, Aim, Methodology, Results, and Conclusions.
* The presenter will have to present the paper in person at the LVA 2024.
* Papers should be based on the original work of the presenter or from the members of the team.
* It is pertaining to diseases of Laryngology and must not have been published in any journal or any other publications.
* Please send by email, typewritten in double space with liberal margin, to the conference secretariat.
* The presenter should not have any objection to the publication of the paper in The Journal of Laryngology and Voice in part or full at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
* Decision of the judges will be final and binding.
* Total duration of the presentation should be 7 minutes or less.
* There shall be 2 minutes of discussion.
Junior Consultant Award Paper
* Age as on 01.01.2024 should be 40 years or less.
* Age proof to be furnished along with the abstract.
* The certificate of the year of passing post-graduation should be attached.
* This should be certifified by either Head of the Department or Principal of the
Medical College.
* Total duration of the presentation should be 7 minutes or less.
* These shall be 2 minutes of dicussion
Senior Consultant Award Paper
* More than 40 years of age.
* Age proof to be furnished along with the Abstract.
* The certificate of the year of passing post-graduation should be attached.
postgraduate degree.
* Total duration of the presentation should be 7 minutes or less.
* There shall be 2 minutes of discussion.
Postgraduate Award Paper
* Bonafide Certificate from the HOD of the Department is to be attached with the abstract.
* This should be certified by either the Head of the Department or Principal of the Medical College.
* Total duration of the presentation should be 7 minutes or less.
* There shall be 2 minutes of discussion.
Video Presentation
* Total duration of the presentation should be 7 minutes or less.
* There shall be 2 minutes of discussion.
* The opening must begin with the exact title and include the presenter’s name only.
* The institution/guide/HOD/Patient name should NOT be mentioned.
* No other details should be mentioned in the slides.
* The voice may be incorporated or the presenter can present the video.
Laryngology Quiz
* Team of 2 Postgraduate students has to be there.
* Registration for Laryngology Summit-2024 is compulsory.
* All PG students should enclose a Bonafide Certificate from their Head of the Department.
GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT FORMAT FOR PODIUM/ E-POSTER PRESENTATION
- Word Limit: The abstracts should be within 250 words.
- Language: Abstract must be typed and presented in English.
- Font Type: Should be prepared in Microsoft Word, Times New Roman Font, 12 point with single line spacing, with the title in boldface.
- Content: The submitted abstracts must contain the following:
- Objectives: State the main objective of the study.
- Materials and Methods: Briefly describe the design of the study and how it was conducted.
- Results: Present the main results with appropriate statistics.
- Conclusion: Limit the conclusions to those that are directly supported by the results.
- References : 3-5, most relevant.
- Standard abbreviations may be used without definition.
- It is the author’s responsibility to submit a correct abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific fact will be reproduced as typed by the author.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE SUBMISSION OF THE ABSTRACT
- Abstracts must be original and must not have been published or presented in any other meeting.
- Abstract should be submitted through online mode only.
- Abstract content should be in English and should not exceed 250 words/1500 characters. This excludes Author and Co-Author names, Affiliations, Titles and References.
- Abstract uploaded only in MS Word (.doc or .docx) format.
- No correspondence will be entertained unless asked by the Scientific Committee.
- Give your choice for presentation (E-Poster/Podium presentations).
- The abstract submitted will go through a peer review process by the Abstract Review Committee. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to make the final decision regarding the acceptance of any paper and also their mode of presentation.
- The presenting author’s name must be highlighted and the presenting author’s full name, institution, conference registration number, phone number and email address are mandatory while abstract submission as all further communications will be done via email.
- The presenting Author is solely responsible to inform the other Co-Authors about the status of the abstract.
- Abstracts stating “data will be discussed in the presentation” will not be accepted.
- If your abstract is selected for the presentation during the Conference, you will be informed by e-mail. Further details will be updated by e-mail on selection.
- Please be advised that you will be requested to confirm the following information when you submit your abstract: “I confirm that I preview the abstract and that all information is correct. I accept that the content of this abstract cannot be modified or corrected after final submission and I am aware that it will be presented exactly as submitted. Submission of the abstract constitutes my consent to publication (eg. Conference website, programs, other promotions, etc.). The abstract submitter warrants and represents that he/she is the sole owner or has the rights to all information and content provided to ISA South Zone Conference Mysore 2023. The abstract submitter grants the Organizers a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable nonexclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, translate, distribute and display the content. The Organizers reserve the right to remove from any publication of abstract, which does not comply with the above. I herewith confirm that the contact details provided are those of the corresponding author, who will be notified about the status of the abstract.”
